In the space of time between February 28 and March 1 (in this non-leap year), the following things happened in my life:
- My friend in Chicago gave birth to a precious, tiny boy.
- My friend in Denver announced her pregnancy to the Facebook world.
- My friend in Branson "went public" with her infertility via a blog post that made my heart ache.
- I finally found a book that was able to explain why my baby doesn't sleep.
WOW. That is a lot of baby-related news to take in one day. I couldn't sleep last night, and I was mulling over all of these events somewhere around midnight. In like a lion!
While I do not intend this blog to be baby-centered, I have to admit that my entire life now revolves around my son. And why shouldn't it? He's adorable. See?
Okay, there are better reasons than cuteness to center your life around something, but that photo is good enough for me.
In all seriousness, I've come to realize that most (not all) of my close friends have babies on the brain. They have them, will soon have them, can't have them, don't want to have them, are waiting to have them with someone... it's impossible to ignore that babies are everywhere in my life!
Congratulations to the dozen or so women/couples I know who have recently become new parents and*/or are expecting. What a ride we're on!
Ahhh... and now the nap is over, and so is this post.
*Jessica, this means you.
